Excellent value for a bookaholic, April 2, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: South Shore Axess Collection 3-Shelf Bookcase, Black (Kitchen) As someone whose books threaten to take over the house, I am always in need of new and inexpensive shelving. This bookcase more than filled the bill. Although it is just a basic three shelf bookcase, it is sturdy, attractively painted, and holds a good number of books and magazine, including the oversized versions.

I recently ordered three of these bookcases. The bookcases were not too difficult to put together and I did assemble them all by myself in about three hours. However, I do agree with a previous review that a second pair of hands would have been helpful. These bookcases are well made and they look great in my office. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Read Directions Twice, February 1, 2010 By Rumored (Daly City, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: South Shore Axess Collection 3-Shelf Bookcase, Black (Kitchen) This is a nice, classic bookcase once it's put together, but read the directions through twice before you start putting it together and make sure you know what goes where. I made several minor mistakes which I regret while I was putting the bookcase together. It's functional, and it's still sturdy but I ended up with some cosmetic differences and an extra piece because the instructions were a bit confusing. I guess I got spoiled on the nice, clear instructions from Ikea. That's the only reason I'm taking a star off, and if you read the instructions through carefully you'll end up with a great bookcase with little effort.
