I Can See the City Lights at Night through this screen, January 12, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Fabric in Lay Folding Room Screen Divider in Cherry Finish Wood 4 Panels What a beautiful addition to my large livingroom window, which has a spectacular view. These screens allow daylight to come through, and in the evenings you only see the shining lights of the city. They came the next day in perfect shape. We love them, and all of my friends compliment us on their beauty. The soft fabric does not take away from our theme.

I expected a lightweight fabric that let some light through, much as a rice-paper screen would. Instead, the "inlay" is less fabric and more "string and thread" with white string on the vertical and brown thread on the horizontal. It is completely see-through. I had hoped to use it in front of patio doors going to the den to give guests using the sleep sofa some privacy, and to keep light from the kitchen from being such a problem when someone is watching TV at night. This won't accomplish either task.
ALSO: the wooden cross-hatches that you see are only on one side of the "fabric" (unlike rice paper screens, where the rice paper is laid BETWEEN such cross hatching - at least the ones I've seen.)
WHY 4 stars anyway? Lovely and reasonably priced if it works for what you need! Prompt... Read more
