Excellent Customer Service, February 24, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Bush Furniture Myspace Collection, Swivel Base TV Stand, Aged Tabacco (Kitchen) I will start off by saying this thing was packaged excellent and shipped very quickly! Everything was very tight and the interior boards were packed facing out towards the edges of the box, so even though the delivery guy put a gouge in the box, it didn't scratch anything that you would see once it was put together. (My scratch ended up not being deep enough to scratch the wood anyways, but it was reassuring to know that if it had gone deep, it wouldn't have mattered.) Also note that the actual glass on the doors was perfect and packed so tight that I don't think ANY delivery guy could break them.
Called Bush Industries twice. They have very convenient customer service hours that include early evenings and Saturdays. I called first because the wood on one glass door was cracked and made it quite weak where it attached to the glass. The other door had wood glue showing along the glass joint. They agreed to ship me those two doors immediately with no problem...and then... Read more

As with most of this kind of material that isn't solid wood, but made of a kind of particle board or whatever, it has a strong chemical smell. We took some acrylic sealer and painted it on on those surfaces that were unfinished and that took care of the smell. That is the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five, but the only way to get away from that smell is to get something made of solid wood and then you are paying a lot more money. Most people don't find the smell objectionable anyway, but we do.
The cabinet is exactly like in the picture, it is very attractive. It is in a room with traditional style cherry furniture and looks nice.
My husband didn't find it hard to assemble but it took a few hours.

That being said, it took a LONG time to put together. In total, it took about 8 hours to put together (granted we broke it up over two sessions). Certain steps are also a two person job, like putting the doors on. We bought this piece as more of a media/entertainment center and it houses all of our electronics, however, our TV is wall mounted. I would not feel safe putting more than a 20 or so inch TV on top of this as it does not seem that stable. It moves a bit from side to side and I am not sure if that is due to the swivel base, or what, but we couldn't get it to not move at all. It seems to need a cross support beam in the back. All in all, we are happy with it for how we are using it, and think that it looks like an expensive piece, but I would not put a flat screen TV on top of this unit.
